A second English Movie Channel on the anvil from STAR Network

Of late STAR India has been seen to be making significant efforts to launch and establish tier II level of channels in different genres viz. that of Hindi and English general entertainment, movies and music.

In  May 2012 they launched their second Hindi movie channel , Movies Ok and now have plans of launching an English movie channel too on the same lines.

On the basis of promos already on air across the STAR Network channels and as per industry sources it is speculated that the launch of such a new movie channel is on the anvil. Though Adgully has been unable to speak directly to any official of the Star Group further information on the same will be confirmed once they do so.

Though industry sources say that the second movie channel will be titled ‘Star Movies Action Channel’ it is assumed that this is only  a working title and the actual title will be unveiled only at the time when the channel goes live . The launch date too is yet to be finalized but it is  believed that the channel will go live sometime during the 1st week of June 2013 . However more details are awaited with regard to the same.
