Mondelez Intl announces Deepak Iyer as its Managing Director of India Operations

Confectionery giant Mondelez International recently appointed former Bharti Axa General Insurance Company CEO and MD Deepak Iyer as its new Managing Director of its India operation.

Iyer will be part of the Asia Pacific Leadership Team and will be reporting to Maurizio Brusadelli, EVP & President, Asia Pacific, Mondelez International.

He would take over responsibilities from Chandramouli Venkatesan who had played the role of MD for around 2 years.

"We are delighted to welcome Deepak to Mondelez International. Deepak joins us with over 20 years of management experience spanning sales, marketing, R&D, franchise management and general management. He also comes with extensive experience in the FMCG space in India", Brusadelli said.

Prior to Bharti Axa, Iyer had also been CEO and managing director of Wrigley India and was also associated with PepsiCo for close to 17 years.
