Komal Anbarasan joins News 7 as Managing editor

Komal Anbarasan, who has been contributing his service to the leading T.V. channels of Tamil Nadu, has taken the responsibility of being the Managing Editor of the News 7  channel. With his 20 years of service in the T.V. channels, Komal is rich with experience both in the print as well as visual media. He has been holding great positions in the Sun Tv and in  Makkal Tv.. His programme, 'Sirappu Paarvai' (Special View) in the Sun T.V. , a highly popular weekend show, over a  period of four years. Areas he covered were science, medicine, sociology, etc., along with the staple subject of politics.

The Makkal T.V. that was running at a loss turned out into a profit making channel under his leadership. Komal was the first one to daringly deal with investigative news in the history of the Tamil channel broadcasts. He is also the pioneer in the contribution of 'gossip news' in the T.V. Channels. He brought to use many Tamil words related to the news. Komal takes credit for coining words such as ''neralai' (live), anmai seithi' (flash news) that are widely used in all Tamil News channels now. He has the reputation of having introduced hundreds of people into the television  media.

At the age of 11 when Komal was in school, he started writing. These were all the jottings of a keen and lively mind and they honed his skills as he grew up. The first book that he published was when he was a lad of 19 years studying in college. With a natural flair for writing, he has authored 12 books in the fields of politics,history, media and life style.

 His book about practical journalism was widely welcomed. The book, which covered the print and visual media, was a forerunner in Tamil publishing for students of journalism. The eminent writer Sujatha in a review in Ananda Vikatan had commented that the book was 'required reading' to those who aimed to succeed in the media world.

Today the book is studied by a vast number of students as it is part of prescribed  reading at the college level. Nadu. He has won  “BEST  YOUNG  JOURNLIST”, “MEDIA LEGEND”,“ The Best Research Scholar in Media”, “BEST YOUNG AUTHOR”  awards from prestigious organizations. Komal anbarasan, while assuming his office said, " The News 7 Tamil channel will head towards the Number One position among all the Tamil news channels." He also added, "We will achieve this soon."
