SnapDeal.com selling 1 voucher every minute

SnapDeal.com, the deal-a-day site with 65% transactional market share, has now taken a bigger leap to reach a remarkable milestone of selling 1 coupon every minute on their website. The unique offering started by Jasper Infotech Pvt Ltd, in Feb 2010, has received amazing response and this achievement is a testimonial for the same.

The e-commerce portal, which features one retail service every day, across various cities, with an attractive offer, has also enabled an estimated saving of over Rs. 2 crores for its customers. There is an average saving of around 65% - 70% at popular restaurants, spas, salons, movie theatres, among others, availed through the website.

In an effort to drastically improve the customer experience of its 4 lakhs subscriber base Snapdeal has recently launched a revamped website which is far superior in terms of technology and performance. The new website, which is built on the latest technologies like Servlet 3.0, has enhanced security and is highly scalable. The website load time is less than 2 sec. While being extremely advanced technologically, the website continued to be a user friendly interface, which breaks the clutter among the otherwise similar looking group buying websites

There is a tremendous response from the merchants as well. 90% of the service providers who have been featured on Snapdeal.com want to use the service again to attract customers. For the local retail services, it acts as a powerful performance based marketing channel to acquire new customers, while reaching out to a large base of prospective customers, without spending anything upfront on branding or advertising. As per the merchants, generating more than 1000 customers within a span of 2 days is the best marketing investment and hence the affinity towards Snapdeal.

Keeping up with the pace of growth in the industry and the cities, in which Snapdeal.com is already operational, the company has very aggressive growth plans. It plans to start operations in 10 more cities by the end of this quarter.

Jasper states that, in cities like Delhi, Mumbai & Bangalore, there will be further segmentation to cater to wider audience and increase relevance. For eg, Delhi/NCR which is a single city, as of now, will be split into three zones - Delhi; Gurgaon & Noida. This, as per the company, is one of the many innovations that are planned for the coming months.
