Now tweet through your Airtel mobile

The current fad among netzians, microblogging site Twitter has stepped in India with country's largest telecom company Airtel.

Bharti Airtel has signed the dotted line with Twitter. Under the deal, subscribers will be able to send Tweets at the usual text rates and receive them for free.

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has put his views on the company blog, "Bharti Airtel is offering people in every city, every village, every remote taluk and even the smallest panchayat the opportunity to connect to Twitter and enjoy the open exchange of information with no added fees." Mr. Stone added that "organic growth has been unusually strong there."

This service is already running in U.S., Canada, New Zealand and the UK.
