It's Fiction before reality at Imagine

Imagine will be launching two new shows at the back of its big investment Zor Ka Jhatka. Both the shows are going to be fiction formats and one of them is going to be a historical account of the Great Emperor Chandragupta Maurya's life.

Adgully caught up with Saurabh Tewari, Head- Programming (Fiction), Imagine, to know more about the two new launches.

Tewari says the historical saga of Chandragupta Maurya will have new faces as the channel did not want the audiences to carry earlier perceptions about a actor's role or character in prior shows. "We carried out extensive research on the life of Emperor Chandrgupta Maurya to understand the character better. We almost carried on a research of over 6 to 8 months. The story is going to be on the lines of the saying "rags to riches", about how a simple kid went on to become the greatest Emperor India has ever seen," he adds.

The show is going to target mass audiences and will be looking at attracting the entire family. The channel is still in talks of deciding the time slot for the show.

The show will be promoted along with the channel's big ticket launch Zor ka Jhatka. Tewari believes this will create the buzz around the show and then later the channel can look at activities for the sustenance of the show. The show will be extensively promoted across cross channel promotions, print and on ground activities. | Prabha Hegde [prabha(at)adgully.com]
