Imagine to launch a new show on reservation policy

Imagine is launching a new show- Armanon ka Balidaan-Aarakshan starting 29th of November 2010 at 8.30pm, every Monday to Friday. The show features some of television's popular faces such as Aarya Kumar, Pariva Pranati, Rahoul Lohani, Muni Jha, Manmohan Tewari and others. The show is being produced by RG Entertainment along with noted writer Kamal Pandey.

The show is a love story between a girl called Sumedha and Aakash. Sumedha's family has lost a son to the agitation against reservation legislation for jobs. On the other hand, Aakash, has benefited from the reservation policy to become a District Magistrate. As the bond between the two blossoms, Aakash has to constantly battle the fact that he is a beneficiary of the quota system.

Talking exclusively to Adgully, Saurabh Tewari, Head of Programming, Imagine, says, "The key USP of the show lies in the premise of the show. It is based on the reservation policy that exists in our country. It's a family show and a love story; there are many sub-plots which are connected with the main story."

"It is a very relevant show and has not been tried on television before. So our audience will get a feel of a love story and at the same time will have a docu-drama feel to it," Tewari contends. | By Prabha Hegde [prabha(at)adgully.com]
