BARC Wk 19: No change in channel rankings, Star Utsav enters at No. 10

BARC India data for Week 19 (Saturday, May 4 to Friday, May 10) of 2019 [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals], shows yet another week of no changes in the rankings of the top 10 Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban, barring the entry of Star Utsav in the tenth spot, replacing &TV. 

Dangal TV continued to lead the Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban in Week 19 as well, but continued to see decline in its gross viewership to 898,565, from 991,777 recorded last week. 

Big Magic, too, saw a decline in its gross viewership this week at 734,422, compared to 738,764 recorded in Week 18. The channel remained unchanged at No. 2. 

On the other hand, Star Plus, placed in the third spot, saw an increase in its gross viewership this week at 641,933 from 629,829 recorded in Week 18. 

Continuing in the fourth spot, Zee TV saw further decline in its gross viewership in Week 19 at 547,525, compared to 568,807 recorded last week. 

Colors remained unchanged in the fifth spot in Week 19 as well. This week, the channel recorded a slight increase in its gross viewership to 510,225 from 505,729 recorded last week. 

There was no change in the ranking of Sony Entertainment Television as well, which continued at No. 6 in Week 19, garnering a gross viewership of 474,487, a further increase from 464,962 recorded last week. 

There was no change in the rankings of Sony SAB, Star Bharat and Sony Pal, which continued at No. 7, No. 8, and No. 9, respectively, in Week 19 as well. All three channels saw an increase in their gross viewership this week. 

Sony SAB garnered a gross viewership of 441,192, a further increase from 436,032 recorded in Week 18. Star Bharat, too, saw a marginal increase in its gross viewership for this week, which stood at 301,901, compared to 290,154 recorded in Week 18. Sony Pal, which had climbed up a notch to the ninth spot last week, continued in this position in Week 19 as well. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 166,251, a further increase from 151,890 recorded last week. 

&TV, which has placed in the tenth spot last week, moved out of the top 10 list in Week 19. The channel was replaced by Star Utsav, coming in at No. 10 with a gross viewership of 143,513. 

Top 5 shows of Week 19 

Two of Zee TV’s long-running shows held on to their positions this week. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ continued to be the most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban in Week 19 as well with 11,467 (000) Impressions. ‘Kundali Bhagya’, the spin-off show of ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, continued in the second spot with 10,798 (000) Impressions. 

Star Plus’ ‘Kasauti Zindagi Kay’, a new entrant at No. 5 in Week 18, climbed up a couple of notches to the third spot this week with 9,001 (000) Impressions. 

Colors’ supernatural/ fantasy show ‘Naagin 3’, which had made a re-entry in the list of top 5 shows at No. 4 in Week 18, continued in this position this week as well with 8,818 (000) Impressions. 

On the other hand, ‘Mahima Shanidev Ki’ on Dangal TV, which was in the numero uno spot a few weeks back, further slipped to the fifth spot in Week 19 with 8,485 (000) Impressions.
