Zee Bangla to celebrate Prosenjit Chatterjee's 30 years in Tollywood

Zee Bangla Cinema: Zee Bangla Cinema recently organized Aparajito Prosenjit 30 Bochhor — presented by Vaseline — a one-of-a-kind event to mark the completion of Bengali megastar Prosenjit Chatterjee's 30 years in the film industry. The programme was held at Netaji Indoor Stadium on September 14, 2013.

The event, which began at 4:30PM, had a host of celebrities including Soumitra Chatterjee, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Soojit Sircar, Jeet and Sourav Ganguly. The entire Tollywood fraternity graced the occasion to express their appreciation of Bengal’s superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee.

Prosenjit Chatterjee, or simply Prosenjit — as he is popularly referred to, debuted as a hero with Duti Pata (1983), a film by Bimal Roy. He quickly catapulted to stardom with superhit movies such as Shatru, Atanka, Pathbhola, Amar Sangi, Chhotobou and Apon Aamar Apon. Prosenjit  begun a new phase in his career with sensitive portrayals in parallel movies with Rituparno Ghosh's Utsab (2000). Since then, he has emerged as a character actor of extraordinary merit, having given stellar performances in movies such as Chokher Bali, Sob Choritro Kalponik, Dosar, Autograph, 22shey Shrabon and Moner Manush . He is considered to be the quintessential superstar of Bengal, who has ruled the industry for the past 30 years.

The programme was hosted by Mir and featured spellbinding performances by Raima Sen, Payel, Tanushree, Rachana, Jishu  Sengupta, Annanya Chatterjee, Paoli Dam, June Malia, Koel Mullick, Soham, Sayantika, Arpita Chatterjee, singer Anupam  and many more. First time ever in history of tollywood industry Mr. Prosenjit Chatterjee gave a power packed performance with his father Biswajit Chatterjee .

More than 10,000 people attended the event, which was accompanied by a carnivalesque arrangement. Food and game stalls were set up. All of them offered sweets named after the megastar “Prosenjit Chatterjee”. The event was preceded by exclusive film festivals of movies starring Prosenjit in Durgapur and Asansol, canter activation and on air contests, all of which generated an overwhelming response.

The programme will be telecast on September 29, 2013 on Zee Bangla and October 20, 2013 on Zee Bangla Cinema.
