TV this week: Star continues to remain at the top

Finally the long wait ends! After a break of nearly 10 weeks, the eagerly anticipated TAM data is out. As per the data revealed, Star Plus continues to top the Hindi GEC market for five weeks including weeks 41, 42, 44, 45 and 48. The channel  has garnered 250 GRPs. It has garnered 225 GRP’s in week 49 and 231 GRP’s in week 50 respectively.

Meanwhile Colors which gave a head to head competition for three weeks viz. week 47, 49, 50 has taken the second position with 231 GRPs. In weeks 49 and 50 the channel registered 235 and 239 GRPs, respectively as it’s most watched and loved show, Bigg Boss, was launched during this time.

Sony Entertainment Television takes the third position registering  an average of 215 GRPs, and being on the top in Weeks 43 and 46. The channel has garnered 201 and 190 GRPs in Weeks 50 and 49, respectively.

Zee TV and SAB TV took the fourth and the fifth position garnering 192 GRPs and 142 GRPs respectively. In the recent weeks that are week 49 and week 50, ZEE TV registered 218 and 191 GRPs respectively whereas SAB TV in the fifth position has ganered 142 GRP’s  and has registered 140 and 151 in weeks 50 and 49 respectively.

Also Life OK taking the no.6 slot registered 130 GRPs and is seen to have garnered 118 and 129 GRPs in the recent weeks.

Following are the TVR’s concerning the top listed shows; Colors’ Balika Vadhu tops the charts with 4.4 TVRs , whereas Star Plus’ Diyaa aur Baati Hum registered an average of 4.38 TVRs indicating a  very close competition between both the shows!  Star Plus’ Yeh Rishtaa Kya Kehlaata Hai stood at No. 3 and registered 3.87 TVRs The fourth slot was taken by Star Plus’ Saathiya

Saath Nibhana with 3.72 TVRs. In the fifth spot was Colors' Sasural Simar Ka with 3.62 TVRs and last but not the least Colors' Madhubala, stood at the sixth position with an average of 3.4 TVRs.
