IPL 8 witnesses 145 million unique viewers

We're back with ratings for the IPL season 8. The data sourced from TAM is for the period 7th April to 18th April. 

Here are some quick highlights of TAM ratings for IPL 8.

14 matches of IPL 8 were sampled by 145 million unique viewers. Time Spent by Viewers per match was 49 Minutes and 4 Seconds; which is 17% more compared to IPL 7. Average TVTs showed a growth of 31% for IPL 8 compared to IPL 7. 14 matches of IPL 8 garnered 4.1% Avg.TVR which was 30% more compared to its previous edition. 54% of the All India Universe tuned to watch IPL 8 matches.

While we had given highlights of per match views last week, here is a glimpse of some of the best matches in the week that passed (11th April - 18th April)

The match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings on 17th April saw a viewership of 5.1 TVRs. The match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sun Risers Hyderabad on 13th April and the match between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals on 14th April both saw a viewership of 4.5 TVRs. In the four pointers range, the match between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians on 12th April saw a viewership of 4.4 TVRs and lastly the match between Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils on 15th April saw a viewership of 4.3 TVRs
