Savdhan India builds awareness with shocking real-life crime stories

Not a day passes without us reading shocking headlines about crime in newspapers or watching television channels screaming about rapes and heinous acts. How can we change things? That's the question that has inspired Life OK's show, ‘Savdhan India’ that's aims at helping the masses by equipping them with knowledge on how to stay alert and aware so that they can prevent being victims of crime!

Life Ok's most gripping show - `Savdhan India' which premiered  on  23rd April at 11PM highlights that every individual has a responsibility towards the society to prevent crimes, but due to various reasons do not have the courage to fight back. Savdhan India talks about such stories where a crime has been committed and how, despite the suffering, the victim fights for justice. The motive of the show is also to create awareness on the kind of dangers lurking around and how to be ‘savdhan’.

Taking their effort to draw the attention of the nation further, the team of Savdhan India will now show the infamous Abhiyankar Joshi case. While the episode is set in the current day, the real case involved - Rajendra Jakkal, Dilip Dhyanoba Sutar, Shantaram Kanhoji Jagtap and Munawar Harun Shah. They were commercial art students of one of the most reputed colleges in Pune. Together they committed 10 murders between January, 1976 and March, 1977, and were hanged to death on 27th November, 1983. Savdhan India attempts to understand the real story by interacting with locals of the area, visiting the crime scene and trying to go a step further to unravel the mystery of such a monstrous act of murder.

Sushant Singh, the reputed actor, who is associated with the show says, “Such stories are heart wrenching and you can’t help but think of the innocent who became a victim to such acts of slaughter. I am glad I have got this opportunity to go to the crux of the matter with the Savdhan India team. Life is such a beautiful gift by God. However, with these ever increasing acts of crime, even when there is no immediate threat, we remain tight and on guard, our minds narrowed and our focus shifted. I hope with this show, we are able to bring about some positive change to the society and also spread awareness about the effects of such dastardly acts.”

Tune in to Life OK from Monday – Sunday at 11PM to fight this battle against crime and help make the change
