'24' to re-run on Viacom 18's Rishtey

Rishtey, the channel that was launched under Viacom 18 network on 3rd September 2012 broadcasts re-runs of programming aired on sister channel Colors. In India, Rishtey is the first Free-to-Air (FTA) channel from the Viacom18 bouquet. The channel that was recently launched in India is all set to telecast the re-run of thriller series ‘24’, the big ticket property of Colors.

Raj Nayak, CEO, COLORS, shared the reason behind getting series 24 back on Rishtey. He elaborated, "24 was a big success for us as it was a format which was tried for the first time in India. Compared to the first season of 24 in US the show did well in India. It has created a buzz for brand Colors and we are committed to do season 2."

"We will be telecasting TV show 24, Monday through Friday, most probably this summer. We saw huge demand through mails, so we thought of getting it back," he added.

With the first season coming to an end, discussions for season 2 are on but still at a nascent stage. As the channel is new, slots for show ‘24’ are yet to be confirmed as of now. The channel is also waiting for distribution to fall in place, post which the team can start working on new formats.

Rishtey has also been selected by Viacom18 as the platform for the telecast of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL).
