Zee Telugu family honours talent with Zee Kutumbam Awards 2018

Revolutionizing the Telugu television industry, Zee Telugu has created a special place in the hearts of all its’ ardent viewers. Zee Telugu announces its annual entertainment extravaganza, the Zee Kutumbam Awards 2018, a platform bringing together the entire Zee Telugu family under one roof to celebrate and honour talent. A memorable evening, with breath-taking performances, the Zee Kutumbam Awards 2018 will be telecasted on 27th November, between 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM only on Zee Telugu and Zee Telugu HD.

Recognizing the best actors, anchors and experts who have made Zee Telugu the one-stop entertainment destination for Telugu families around the world, the Zee Kutumbam Awards this year had a special precursor to the award ceremony that took place at Annapurna Studios on 13 th October – Zee Utsavam, an event commemorating its well-deserving family. Zee Telugu Kutumbam chose to reveal the 8-favourite nomination categories with their visit to Kurnool, inviting their fans as a part of the voting campaign for Kutumbam Awards 2018.

This year, the star-studded event hosted by anchor Ravi and Sreemukhi, brought together 15 fiction teams including America Ammayi, Punnaga and That is Mahalakshmi, along with 12 fiction shows that are currently running on-air, the non-fiction teams of Drama Juniors, Maharani, Bathuku Jatka Bandi, Aata Juniors, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and the devotional programs from the morning band. The action-packed evening witnessed sizzling performances by Laxmi Rai, Anjali, Scarlett and Seerat Kapoor, additional to the mind-blowing aerial stunts performed by the leading couples. The adored anchors, Ravi and Sreemukhi dazzled the audiences with their heart-warming performance.

Some of the Zee Kutumbam Awards 2018 were taken away by –

  • Mudda Mandaram and Mutyala Muggu, the two shows that received the maximum awards in Zee Kutumbam 2o18, due to it’s sheer brilliance
  • Bathuku Jataka Badi won the award for Socially Responsible Show
  • Mutyala Muggu was awarded for the prestigious Aarambham Okka Aduguthone award, for the show that truly lived the brand value in its narrative through its lead protagonist Bhoomi, who plays a village girl with the dreams of becoming a Kabaddi Champion. Her journey of facing difficulties through the city and finally coming out as a winner; an underdog story a lot of young women take an inspiration from.
  • Sreemukhi won the Favourite Anchor award for the first time in Zee Kutumbam Awards and it brought tears in the eyes of the audience to watch her parents give away the award to her as a surprise.

While winners from Favourite and Uttama categories won awards for their on-screen characters/roles and shows, there were four awards in association with Facebook this year which were purely based on public voting numbers.

  • Zee Telugu’s Fresh Face Male and Female were awarded to Prathap and Anusha Hegde from Ninne Pelladatha.
  • Zee Telugu’s Cutest Couple was awarded to Krishna and Sandra from Mudda Mandaram for their roles as Mahi and Aishwarya.
  • Zee Telugu’s Style Icon is Kaushal Manda.

The contribution in making this grandeur event a successful one, the special guest list included Sri Ram Aditya, Director of Nagarjuna and Nani, starrer Deva Das; Goodhachari Director, Sashikiran; Directors SV Krishna Reddy and Achi Reddy; Director AS Ravikumar Chowdhry, the popular actor Prudhvi, known for his notable work in the industry over the last 30 years; Director of Ram – Ileana starrer DevaDas YVS Chowdhry also attended the event, along with Birhiri Satti team of ‘Gold Fish’ movie.
