Weekend Exclusive | I can never play a vamp: Kanchi Kaul

She is known for her character Ananya Sachdev-Samarth in the show Ek Ladki Anjaani Si and has also done roles in Maayka and Bhabhi. Post marriage she is back on the small  screen with her new show titled Meri Bhabhi.

Kanchi Kaul who will soon be seen playing the role of Shraddha Shergill, one of the lead protagonists  in her upcoming show seemed to be super excited during her interaction with Adgully.

Sharing about how it feels to be back on television after marriage and that too in a lead role, she said “It feels really great and yes  more than being the lead I really liked the character that I am playing in Meri Bhabhi, and now it’s work time after vacations!”

Kanchi married actor and producer Shabbir Ahluwalia in November 2011 and took a break from work after marriage.

Asking further about her character in the show, she went on to say, “This would be my first show post marriage and I’ve high expectations with it. The show is about a Nanad – Bhabhi relationship and the concept is really new.”

It is apparent that she missed being away from the screens as she said, “ I love my work but the break was needed.  I can never be away from television for long, I just love being a part of it.”

Actors love to experiment with their roles so we asked Kanchi whether she would  love to play a negative character, to which she quickly responded, “No, I can never imagine myself being the vamp and playing a negative character will never suit me.”

Apart from the shows Kanchi also shared about  their production house Flying Turtle Films which is doing well and presently working on the film Zanzeer.

‘Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi, Meri Bhabhi’ will go on air from 17th June at 8 pm on Star Plus.
