UrbanClap partners with Snapdeal for a co-branded CSR Initiative
Mobile services marketplace, UrbanClap, announces its exclusive partnership with Snapdeal – a leading ecommerce player, for a co-branded CSR initiative this Christmas to spread joy among less fortunate children. Over 25 leading NGOs from across the country have been selected for this unique activity that is being initiated by Snapdeal Sunshine – Snapdeal’s in-kind donation platform.
As part of the initiative, UrbanClap and Snapdeal are inviting customers to donate ‘Happiness Boxes’ to selected NGOs via the Snapdeal Sunshine platform to help them arrange and plan the Christmas as well as New Year celebration parties for the kids they look after. Furthermore, those who contribute their share will receive official invites to attend these events at the location of the NGO chosen by them.
Commenting on the initiative, Varun Khaitan, Co-Founder of UrbanClap said, “Christmas is celebrated with full fervor across many parts of India, and is also one of the most awaited holidays of the year. However, while most of us indulge in delightful activities to mark this occasion, there are some who have been denied such luxuries of life at a young age due to unfortunate circumstances. Thus, compelled by our social responsibility towards the society, we decide to partner with SnapDeal to announce this unique initiative exclusively for children supported by NGOs. In addition, we are confident that the support extended by our esteemed customers will ensure these children enjoy both Christmas and the New Year with full joy and excitement.”
Speaking about the initiative, Rajnish Wahi, Senior Vice President - Corporate Affairs and Communication, Snapdeal said “It is the season of celebrations and what better way to spread warmth and cheer, than to bring smiles on the faces of children. We are excited and thankful to all our partners, and our customers for helping us in ring in Christmas and New Year in a very special and meaningful way.”
The CSR initiative commenced on 17th December, 2016, and will continue till the 5th of January, 2017. Apart from UrbanClap and Snapdeal, cab aggregator company Uber is also part of this initiative to fulfil the commuting requirements of customers invited to attend the events at the NGO of their choice. Each celebration and event will be held at more than 100 locations across the country.
