Tata Chemicals wins accolades at the FE-EVI Green Business Leadership Awards!

Tata Chemicals was awarded the prestigious 2011-12 FE-EVI Green Business Leadership Award in Chemicals and  Fertiliser Sector to recognize companies in corporate India who have adopted sustainability and clean tech as a core strategic measure to profitability. Dr. M. Veerappa Moily, Union Minster for Corporate Affairs presented the award to Tata Chemicals in a glittering ceremony in Delhi on 5th June, 2012, the World Environment Day. The awards were organized by The Financial Express in collaboration with Emergent Ventures India.
 
The award ceremony was accompanied by the launch of the FE-EVI Green Business Survey 2011-12. In the fourth edition of the survey; first instituted in the year 2008; over 500 top companies (revenue-wise) of India were chosen and a total of 73 companies across 11 sectors actively participated. The companies were selected on the basis of the impact their initiatives have made in areas like climate change and environment, natural resources management, and sustainability governance.
 
Sanjay Choudhary, Chief Sustainability and Technology Officer, Tata Chemicals Ltd. said, “This award recognises our efforts to engage with the stakeholders in the transition to green economy. We at Tata Chemicals feel delighted and honoured by this recognition and it assures us that we are on the right path towards sustainable operations, products and service offerings”
 
The awards, presented to a cross section of industry sectors, included Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Shree Cement Ltd, Tata Coffee Ltd, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Essar Steel, Larsen & Toubro and Jain Irrigation System as winners in their respective categories. The awards jury comprised eminent policymakers, industry leaders, academicians and thought-leaders.
