Spenta Multimedia launches Domus India
The Indian edition of Domus will be a space for the dissemination of original and rigorous thought in architecture and design. It will provide a sharp critical focus on the zeitgeist and the possible resultant futures for architecture and design in the Indian subcontinent. Domus has been brought to India by Spenta Multimedia, India's largest custom publisher.
The Indian edition of Domus will be launched on Saturday the 12th of November 2011 at 6:30pm on the lawns of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sanghralaya (formerly Prince of Wales Museum of Western India), Mumbai.
The keynote address will be delivered by the noted Japanese architect Kazuyo Sejima, partner, SANAA, which was founded by Kazuyo Sejima & Ryue Nishizawa. Their Tokyo-based architectural practice was awarded architecture's highest honour, the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2010 and is an important practice, both in Japan and internationally. The session will be followed by an introductory talk by the Domus editor-in-chief, Joseph Grima. He is the youngest editor-in-chief of Domus, Milan. He trained at the Architectural Association and was Director of the Storefront for Art and Architecture New York.
From India, eminent architectsâ€Bijoy Jain, Christopher Benninger, Kapil Gupta, Soumitro Ghoshâ€will be present to join in a conversation about the present and future possibilities in the practice of architecture and allied arts, and the importance of time, place and resource in the execution of projects, both live and as ideas.
