SonyLIV brings the unheard story of ‘The Spanish Princess’ to India

Back in the 16th century, when England was striving for survival after the death of King Arthur, one woman ascended to the throne and spearheaded change in European monarchy. Empowering, intellectual and unwavering – The Spanish Princess was a leader like no other. SonyLIV, India’s premium video on demand (VOD) service brings her story of indomitable courage for the first time ever to Indian audiences. Starting 7th May, viewers will be introduced to the unheard tale of Catherine of Aragon just a day after its US Premiere.

SonyLIV launches The Spanish Princess as the third instalment in bringing untold stories of powerful women in history after The White Queen and The White Princess. Set in the 16th century in Tudor London, the show dwells on the life of Catherine of Aragon and how European history altered around her. The show is drawn from two best-selling global novels (The Constant Princess and The King’s Curse) of Philippa Gregory. Charlotte Hope of Game of Thrones fame plays the titular role along with Angus William Jake Imrie.

SonyLIV users will get to witness this enthralling story along with the world for the first time ever. From the 6th of May, every week, viewers can enjoy an episode of The Spanish Princess right after its premiere in the US.

The show will be available for viewing on SonyLIV at a premium subscription of Rs 99/- per month and Rs 499/- per year.
