Rajdeep Sardesai joins India Today Group as Consulting Editor

News has come in that one of the popular faces in the world of news media, Rajdeep Sardesai has joined the India Today Group. Sardesai makes this move post his departure from Network18 in July this year.

Highly placed sources from the India Today group have confirmed the news to Adgully.

In his new role at India Today, he shall be leading a show and will contribute towards the development and revamp of the channel.

He started his TV career in 1994 and was amongst the founding members of NDTV and CNN-IBN. Before getting into TV journalism, he worked with the Times of India for six years and was the city editor of the newspaper's Mumbai edition. Sardesai has more than 25 years of experience and has just finished writing his first book based on the historic 2014 elections.

At Network18, he was the Editor-in-Chief of IBN18 Network heading CNN-IBN, IBN-7 and IBN-Lokmat for nine years. He left the network two days before the new Network18 management was announced.

He has won several national and international awards for journalism, including the Padma Shri in 2008.
