PlanetRadioCity hunts for Junior RJs

PlanetRadioCity.com recently concluded its Junior RJ Hunt. A special talent hunt, for kids aged between 8 – 14 years, the initiative was aimed to provide young children an opportunity to get a peek inside the radio industry during their summer holidays.

 

The successfully conducted citywide talent hunt saw an overwhelming response. Keen to showcase their talent and win a chance to be a Junior RJ on Planetradiocity Web Radio, hundreds of eager aspirants from across Mumbai participated in the on-ground and online auditions.

 

Post an exhaustive judging process; four talented aspirants were shortlisted as the winners of the hunt. Senior RJs and radio professionals then honed the winners. They will be hosting shows on PlanetRadioCity.com’s Web Radio all this month.

Spread over a period of two months, the extensive talent hunt was flagged off in mid April with auditions for ‘Junior RJ Hunt’ conducted on-ground at InOrbit Mall in Mumbai and online on PlanetRadiocity.com. Interested participants had an option to either record their audition sound bytes on-ground or mail them at fun@planetradiocity.com.  From over hundreds of entries received, the judges at PlanetRadiocity selected four winners: Anusha Chakrabarty, Vini Chawla, Aman Malik and Aisha Qazi.

 

The chosen four underwent a six-day rigorous training and grooming session under the tutelage of talented PlanetRadiocity.com Web Radio RJs, RJ Ajay and RJ Nikki, and the vivacious RJ Archanaa from Radio City 91.1 FM Mumbai.

 

Each selected Junior RJ will now get a chance to individually host a show on the Web Radio on PlanetRadiocity.com from May 17, 2012 to June 8, 2012, every Thursday and Friday between 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.
