MMI India Pvt. Ltd. announced their new Acting CEOs

MMI India Pvt. Ltd, the wholly owned subsidiary of Messe München GmbH, announced the new Acting CEOs. The Management Board of Messe München GmbH has decided to establish a joint management responsibility for the time being.  Katharina Schlegel as COO and Deputy CEO and Bhupinder Singh as CMO and Deputy CEO of MMI India will lead the company as “Acting CEO” jointly with each other. They are jointly fully in charge and in control of the company.

Klaus Dittrich, Chairman and CEO of Messe München International and Chairman of the Board of Directors MMI India, said “In the present situation, it is not easy to continue with our daily business. However, with regard to the employees of MMI India and our partners in the Indian exhibition market it is more than necessary to give a guidance in these turbulent times and ensure a continuity of the company´s management in the spirit of the late CEO. The Management Board of Messe Muenchen GmbH therefore has decided to establish a joint management responsibility for the time being”.

Katharina Schlegel assumed the responsibility as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in February 2014. Since starting at Messe München in February of 2009, Katharina Schlegel has set up and developed the division International Business Management. As Head of International Business Management for India, Turkey and South Africa, she has extensive experience in steering and coordinating the foreign subsidiaries of Messe München, as well as establishing new locations and developing existing one.

Singh has been part of MMI India Pvt. Ltd. since it was founded in 2007. He was promoted as the Deputy CEO of the company in May 2013. He has held a variety of positions in project management in which he developed and implemented concepts for trade fairs and exhibitions, among other topics.

Darryl Dasilva, CEO – MMI India passed away on 7th June 2014 due to a cardiac arrest. He defined the road map for MMI India and under his able leadership, the company expanded its horizons with new shows every year. Messe München International owes  Dasilva a great debt of gratitude and will honor his memory.

MMI India currently organises eight trade fairs and will keep on adding more. Each of the trade fair are leaders in their segment.
