Kotak Mahindra Bank partners with Manipal University; introduces Kotak Probationary Officer Course

Kotak Mahindra Bank, in association with Manipal University, today announced that it is starting a specialised banking course ' "Kotak Probationary Officer Course' for the young graduates of India who seek a career in the banking sector. Thus, through this course all those who could not or were unable to pursue a MBA programme can still aspire for a career in the lucrative banking sector.

The 12-month course, starting December 2011, will be conducted by the Manipal University at its Bengaluru campus. The thrust of the course is to impart specialised knowledge on banking and functional knowledge on general management including all aspects of relationship management. On completing the 1-year post graduate diploma course, students have the option to continue studying online for another 18 months, and converting this diploma into an MBA programme. They can do this while continuing to work with Kotak Mahindra Bank.

The duration of the "Kotak Probationary Officer Course consists of 9 months of rigorous on-campus study followed by 3 months of internship at Kotak Mahindra Bank. On successful completion of the course, Manipal University will confer a "Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Relationship Management' and Kotak Mahindra Bank will give employment with the bank as a "Probationary Officer'. Additionally, on successful completion of one year of service in the bank subject to attaining a minimum performance rating each student is entitled for a one time guaranteed annual bonus of Rs. 50,000/ -.

In addition to meeting the requirements of the banking sector, our course has immense potential for generating employment opportunities in India", Bhaduri said.

During the duration of the course, in order to meet out of pocket expenses and living expenses, students will be paid a fixed allowance of Rs. 2,500/- every month during the 9-month on campus-period. Thereafter, they will get a stipend of Rs. 20,000/- per month during the internship with the bank.

Furthermore, Kotak Mahindra Bank will also provide easy financing of the course fees at concessional terms to all students. On successful completion of 48 months of service with the Bank, 85% of the course fee would be paid back to the probationary officer.
