Highlights for SPN English Cluster 2018

SPN’s English Cluster has grown by 34 % in FY 19 (till date) as compared to FY 18. (From 13% network, we now stand at 17%)

SBBCE became the # 1 channel within first year of its launch and has maintained its position (wk 1-49, 2+ NCCS AB, megacities) with the highest channel share of 21.5%.

  • Infact 3 out of top 5 shows in the category are on Sony BBC Earth – Rick Stein’s India, Spy in the Wild and Fishing Impossible.
  • We are #1 owing to our differentiated and innovations led strategy straddling across brand, content and marketing/communication. For example, to amplify the biggest premiere of 2018 - Blue Planet II, we experimented with a never-heard-of marketing strategy that would help us build awareness across masses and generate word-of-mouth amongst classes at no cost! We took the first 2 episodes of the series and released it as a film on the BIG screen exclusively in PVR cinemas. This initiative was kicked off with India’s first-ever Blue Carpet premiere attended by nearly 100 celebrities. Social media was abuzz for days with reviews and recommendations from them.
  • We hosted international legends like Jonny Keeling and NY times bestselling author Dr Michael Mosley in India, who busted many myths related to Indian food while talking to India’s health and fitness expert Shilpa Shetty!
  • We took our brand positioning of Feel Alive on ground by introducing the IP Feel Alive hours. We started with schools reaching out to 2 lakh students in 300 schools across 4 cities.

In 2018, AXN emerged as the # 1 channel in All India 15+ with 25% market share. It is a 20-year legacy brand, which has pioneered experiential marketing. We introduced 2 new properties in the year - AXN Premiere Club and AXN Bestsellers in 2018

  • AXN Premiere Club is the 10 pm slot that will have new seasons of the widely popular Handmaid’s Tale, Vikings, Supernatural, Madam Secretary to name a few.
  • We also have iconic movies playing once a week for our discerning viewer in AXN Box office.

After a successful 2018, Sony PIX has amazing plans for 2019. With blockbuster movies from leading international studios like WB, NBCU, the channel is set to amaze viewers in 2019 with Indian television premieres of Jurassic World fallen kingdom, Mortal Engines, Skyscraper, First Man, Pacific Rim Uprising, Gringe etc.

Other movies to look forward to include Dunkirk, Wonder Woman, The Lego Batman movie, Annabelle 2 and many more. Additionally, the biggest faces, adventures, superheroes, franchises will amaze you every day at 9PM.
