Goafest 2014 | Hindustan Media Ventures wins the race with Six Abbys!

Leading the tally board on day one of the much awaited Media Abby Award show at Goafest 2014 was Hindustan Media Ventures with six metals, closely followed by Bennett, Coleman & Co (BCCL) with five metals.

The Media Abby Award show also announced a newly created category this year viz. the Creative Abby - Publisher Category. The category saw around 62 entries from the publishers and a total of 20 awards were given across seven sub-categories. According to industry experts, the objective behind introducing Publisher Abbys was to recognize outstanding advertising and communication ideas for promoting print properties.

Hindustan Media Ventures (HMV) won six metals including two silver and four bronzes. The silvers were for Hindustan's 'Colours+Celebs+Cellphone+Craziness' campaign (Best Brand Innovation in Newspaper Printed or Online sub-category), HT's 'Hindustan Times no TV Day 2013'; and French window jacket with HT Active (AR) Mobile Application' campaign (The Most Creative Front Page in a Printed Newspaper sub-category).

HMV’s bronze metals’ list include Mints' 'Leaves campaign'; HT's 'Let's Make News Better' in Best Marketing of a Printed Newspaper/edition sub-category; HT's 'You Read, They Learn' in CSR/Cause Related Marketing Initiative in Traditional or Online Space' sub-category; and Hindustan's 'Colours+Celebs+Cellphone+Craziness' campaign in 'Most Creative Front Page in a Printed Newspaper' sub-category.

BCCL bagged three gold metals including two in 'CSR/Cause Related Marketing Initiative in Traditional or Online Space' sub-category for Maharashtra Times'- 'MT Helpline' and 'I Lead India - Organ Donation Day' campaigns and third gold metal for TOI's 'A Live' campaign in the 'Best Brand Innovation in Newspapers Printed or Calling' sub-category.

On winning 3 metals; one Gold, one silver and one Bronze, Pradeep Diwedi, Chief Corporate Sales and Marketing Officer, said, “The feeling is really good to have bagged 3 metals inspite of such competition around every industry. We didn’t expect it, but this clearly shows that where there is a will there is a way.”

Suresh Srinivasan, Vice President at Kasturi & Sons, Ltd said, “It was a great experience being a part of it. I am quite encouraged with what we got but surely looking forward to some more metals.”
