Colors celebrates its quality offerings and talent at Golden Petal Awards 2016

To some they’re just names; but to millions of viewers, they’re family members who visit them every day through their television sets. That’s the power of COLORS. Having enthralled viewers with its superlative fiction and non-fiction offerings, COLORS today celebrated the blockbuster performance of shows across genres with the Golden Petal Awards. Recognizing the incomparable contribution of the actors who have created a long-lasting impression on the viewers’ minds, COLORS placed the power to select the best of the best in the hands of the audience. Held at Mumbai’s Filmcity, the Golden Petal Awards will be televised on COLORS on 10th April, 2016.  

The Golden Petal Awards, this year, celebrated the best of Hindi entertainment evoking various emotions across genres that have ruled the hearts of COLORS’ audience base. Stellar performances depicted the widely celebrated stories on the channel. The glitzy evening witnessed a great line-up of television and Bollywood faces at the red carpet including the likes of Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Maliaka Arora Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Arjun Bijlani, Dipika Kakad, Toral Rasputra, Adaa Khan, Sidharth Shukla, Sidharth Nigam, Vivian Dsena and many more from the COLORS family.

The evening was hosted by comic powerhouse Karan Johar, along with segment host Farah Khan. It witnessed a volley of performances tugging at the viewers’ heartstrings, kicking off on a shaandaar note with a blockbuster opening act where Karan Johar was joined by leading COLORS faces. The night gathered more excitement as the timeless diva Madhuri Dixit enthralled the audience with her soulful performance alongside COLORS’ most popular bahus. Breaking the stage with his power-packed performance, Anil ‘Jhakaas’ Kapoor not only danced to ‘Taal’ and ‘Galla Gudiya’, but also had the celebrity filled audience on their feet. While the Khatron Ke Khiladi host Arjun Kapoor tried to charm the ladies of the COLORS family Mouni Roy, Jigyasa Singh, Meera Deosthale, Arjun Bijlani along with the Khiladi girls Tanishaa Mukerji, Sana Khan, Mukti Mohan set the stage on fire to a medley of zestful songs. Amidst the entertainment that made the night, Salman Khan and Malaika Arora Khan’s warm hug added to the peaking interest. Salman Khan also did a jig to his favourite number ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo’with the television’s favourite Siddharth Nigam and Krushna Abhishek.

The celebratory sentiment was further escalated as the Golden Petal Awards were presented to various inimitable television stars and Bollywood actors who have become indispensable members of the COLORS family. The winners for the evening include:
