An actor's stardom can't be judged by the number of awards won: Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan, more popularly known as the Badshah of Bollywood, with his large fan following has always entertained his audiences. The charm that he exudes as an actor has taken him to great heights of success. He has his own strong beliefs one of which is that an actor or actress cannot be judged from the awards they have won .He himself till date has received 172 awards in his more than 20 years of Bollywood career but does not consider this as an achievement.

Elaborating further on his views on the same SRK says, "First of all in our profession heroes and heroines both being actors should not be differentiated as both of them put in equal efforts to make a film successful. I feel awards celebrates a person's being a star through his work and that moment can't be judged with their stardom and nor can it be compared."

When judging anyone as a best actor, what would be the criteria he would be looking at?  He thoughtfully said, "I think more than anything else the best match of popularity and artistic quality would matter to me.”

According to SRK there is competition in each and every profession and hence it is tough to decide and opt for the best. But for making the right decision it is important that you choose the best in the domain you are in.

"I am still struggling to become a big star so that my parents can watch my films from heaven and I'll keep trying to do my best," said an emotional SRK .

Sharing about his fame and work which influences his children towards the Bollywood industry he said, "I usually used to dedicate my awards to my parents, but post their death now I dedicate my awards to my children. I keep my awards near their bed so that the next day when they get up, they see and understand that I have achieved it from my hard work. For an actor hard work matters more than popularity or fame. My children understand my thoughts which keeps me satisfied."

As last year’s release, Chennai Express was one of his most successful film and the Lungi Dance song was one of the most popular song of the year, the actor is planning to dance on the same track in Zee Cine awards which will he hosted by Abhishek Bachchan and all set to be aired on television on February 23, 2014.

Where his films are concerned, he will be seen in Farah Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’ with Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and others which is due for release in October 2014. There is a likelihood of Shah Rukh Khan making an entry on the television space with ZEEL soon.
