Ace golfers Shiv Kapur and Sharmila Nicollet to tee off for Marriott India

Cementing its affiliation with the sport, the Marriott Group of Hotels India announces its association with ace golfers, Shiv Kapur & Sharmila Nicollet, two of India’s leading professional golfers, and recipients of numerous awards and accolades, with Shiv Kapur also being the recipient of the prestigious Arjuna Award.

These goals and ambitions are only fuelled further with this association.” Shiv bagged a major milestone by winning the prestigious Dubai City Challenge and also being the first Indian to lead the British Open on the first day.

Sharmila has had an incredible stint at global events, wherein she has been the youngest, leading  woman golfer from India , to retain her card twice at the Ladies European Tour; In 2014, she hopes to climb up the ladder on the European Order of Merit. Her goal is to win top tournaments in Europe and in the LPGA in the US, which is the “Holy Grail” for woman golfers. She is already a trailblazer among women athletes in the country, taking the prim and proper world of golf by storm with her talent and style, at such a young age.

Both golfers represent the young super achievers of India who settle for nothing but the best which also brings them closer to the Marriott core values of finesse, precision and lifestyle. The hospitality major has hosted three successful editions of the Marriott International President's Golf Trophy demonstrating its affinity for this sport. Shiv and Sharmila will represent the Marriott brand in 2014 and will also participate in further golf and lifestyle initiatives planned by the group in the coming year.
