Vivek Bahl bids adieu to Sony!

Earlier there was a buzz doing the rounds that  Vivek Bahl , Chief Creative Director of Sony Entertainment Television would be putting down his papers in the industry shortly . However the news has now been confirmed officially.

Rumours suggest that some one within the system will be taking over from Bahl and it is still speculative as to who will be replacing his post at Sony.

We at Adgully have been unable to reach him and elicit any comments from him with regard to his latest move but sources close to the development have confirmed his latest decision to move on.

Bahl was appointed Chief Creative Director at Sony Entertainment Television (SET)  and was responsible for the overall programming of the Hindi general entertainment channel,  since Ajay Bhalwankar had put down his papers in June 2011. While at Sony he  reported to Sneha Rajani,  Senior Executive Vice-President and Business Head, SET.

Prior to his joining Sony, Bahl was with  Viacom18, where he was network advisor, content and played  a strategic role to plan and develop new content for the network.

He has also had a stint with  Turner International, where he was chief content officer for India and was responsible for overseeing the content strategy and development for Turner's diverse portfolio of entertainment brands in India, including Imagine TV, Cartoon Network, Pogo and Warner Brothers.

With more than 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry, it is believed that Bahl has been known for his cross-functional strategic perspective. He has also worked with STAR TV and Zee TV, where he helped develop multiple fiction and non-fiction properties some of which  include Antakshari, Banegi Apni Baat, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi, Banoo Mein Teri Dulhan, Jab Love Hua, Bidaai, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlaata Hai, Saath Nibhana Saathiya, Sindoor, Saat Phere, Betiyaan, Maayka and Pratigya.
