The campaign takes on the pressing issue of railway safety and will spread awareness among commuters to deter them from crossing tracks and travelling on the rooftop of trains, which have ended many lives and maimed even more. This is an extension of its larger campaign called ‘Mumbai Manao, Life Banao’ which celebrates the spirit of Mumbai. The ‘Safety Manao, Life Banao’ campaign will see RJ Ankit hosting the breakfast show from atop a bridge at one of Mumbai’s busiest railway stations – Dadar from 7am to 11am each morning, until he gets a minimum of 9270 volunteers to support the cause and spread the awareness.

Supporting the campaign, Shahid Kapur, director Kunal Kohli & producer Vicky Bahri were seen talking at length about Mumbai’s lifeline: the local trains and how 92.7 BIG FM has done a commendable job of taking up this issue and spreading awareness amongst Mumbaikars.

RJ Ankit will be in his mobile radio studio at a key junction at Dadar Railway Station. His show will involve – interviews with the authorities highlighting the challenges that they face, speaking to passengers on the reasons why they go about endangering themselves, people who have survived accidents will share their stories so also those who have lost someone close in railway accidents. The show will also see a slew of celebrities visiting the mobile studio as a mark of support and encouragement to the campaign. Extending the campaign to social media; RJ Ankit will take aerial pictures from his vantage point, of people unnecessarily endangering their lives. These will be posted on the social media network which will serve as an eye-opener for those who see them.

Listeners can participate in the initiative by sending in SMS’s to 55454 showing their support and making a promise to travel safely.

Commenting on this campaign, 92.7 BIG FM said, “We are glad to have the support of Shahid Kapur, Kunal Kohli and Vicky Bahri to promote this cause of safety on trains. As a responsible media brand that reflects the city’s passions and emotions, we believe in using our medium – radio to spread awareness of this very critical message of railway safety among commuters. The campaign has been conceptualized to highlight the staggering number of accidents and dangers that commuters bring upon them. We are extremely thankful to the Western Railways and Humanitarian Welfare & Research Foundation for supporting this initiative. As a brand that celebrates Mumbai’s passions, this is our way to contribute to an issue so relevant to our audiences.”
