Spirit W | Media Industry lacks well defined HR practice: VivaKi's Sejal Shah

Women are capable in more ways than one. Apart from having full-fledged careers today, they also find the time and energy to pursue passions and other interests.

Spirit W, this week brings to you Sejal Shah, Executive Vice President ' West, VivaKi Exchange, another smart and successful woman of the media industry who goes all out in order to achieve her goals. Beginning her career with Initiative Media in 1995, Shah has moved on to various other companies like Tata Interactive Services, Group M, Lodestar and Publicis Group since April 2007.

Talking about the renowned women in the Industry, Shah said, "I am greatly inspired by Ambika Srivastava who hired me in IM and in current job, Lynn Desouza and Meenakshi Madhvani are very inspiring women from whom one can learn a lot."

Out of all the work done, Shah takes pride in the work done on Sony Entertainment, Cadbury, Bajaj Auto, Vodafone, ICICI Group, Tata Teleservices and all the current portfolio.

Shah is of the opinion that women definitely have an edge over men in the media space because of their inherent qualities.

The media industry, according to Shah lacks a well defined HR practice. "It also lacks a structured remuneration with clients which adequately rewards the agency and allows the agency to attract the right talent," she further added.
