Spirit W | I have only my body of work to speak for me: Corcoise's Sandipa Rakshit

Sandipa Rakshit loves adventures ' going through unmapped routes, places that she has never visited excites her. So much so that even journeys in a local public transport or a cup of good coffee would keep her in good spirits.

Working in an advertising industry for the past two-and-a-half years, Sandipa's work blends realism with lyrical form. Currently working as Director at Corcoise Production, she is also a part time photo documenter, part time marathon runner, stage actor, trained Kathak dancer and the list goes on.

So what made her come into the advertising field? "I get to apply everything, I can observe and gather and relish from day to day life. That's not all, I also get to make a living¦so what better choice of profession!!," says a beaming Sandipa.

When she had come in, she was a complete newcomer with absolutely no contacts and without having an experience of working for an advertising agency. The unpredictability of getting work in the industry where there is no formula was a big challenge for Sandipa. The only option is to wait patiently for the turn and take it as it comes that has been a great exercise of grounding.

"I had only my body of work to speak for me. So it's been a longer and tougher journey but every bit a great learning experience," she says.

When quizzed as to where she sees herself five years down the line, Sandipa quips that she would be tapping a tune while orbiting around the moon and recording the journey. | By Aanchal Kohli [aanchal(at)adgully.com]
