Spirit W | Concept of Mentoring should be adopted: Starcom's Sulina Menon

Spirit W has brought you, many strong willed women of the media space. Women, who stop at nothing in achieving what they want, focused women who have their goals clear in mind and constantly working towards it. This week, Adgully brings to you Sulina Menon, Strategic media advisor - Samsung at Starcom India, Delhi. She is also currently designated as Project director at engagevoter.com and as Strategic Consultant at Phat Phish Musice. She also happens to wear the hat of the Sales Trainer at Deccan Chronicle and Consultant at Cheil Communications, National Geograhic Channel along with being its Strategic Media Advisor.

Talking about the many women who inspire her, Menon exclaims "People who inspire me doesn't necessarily have to be leaders." She points out that her mother is somebody she admires because of her independence and never say die attitude. "Also women like Shabana Azmi for her focus and determination, Indira Gandhi for her strength and vision, Meenakshi Madhvani for her acumen and spirit and Heroines of authors Paulo Coelho and Ken Follett who all are amazing characters!"

Menon further states that there is lots of work that she is proud of, however she is quick to add that she would not like to be the one to take the credit as it is all team work in the business!

When asked if women have a edge over men in the media field, Menon said, "I believe that gender does not give you an edge in any space of work - The edge comes from your intelligence, skills, focus, knowledge and delivery! The only regret women probably have is that they don't have wives taking care of many things that wives do for men when they are pursuing their careers."
