MIB advises broadcasters to display credits in regional languages

Today, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) released a statement saying that displaying casting/credits/titles of Hindi and Regional TV serials with names of artists, lyricists, musicians, directors, producers etc. in English deprives the audience who speaks the native language from valuable information about casting of TV serials/programmes. Thus, it has advised private satellite TV channels going forward to display credits in the respective regional languages.

The statement said that the MIB had received representations from the broadcasting industry on the following issue after which they decided to take action.
