Merin is the Winner of Asianet's Idea Star Singer Season 6

The grand finale of Idea Star Singer Season 6 was held live on 22nd December 2012 at Al- Saj Convention Centre, Thiruvananthapuram. Several prominent persons from the film industry and socio- cultural spheres were present on the occasion.

Merin from Kozhicode was declared winner of Idea Star Singer Season 6 , Rajeev from Thiruvananthapuram is the first runner-up, Megha from Cochin was declared second runner-up & last but not the least, Nandu from Kottayam, Shamshad from Thiruvanantthapuram and Sukesh Kuttan  from Dubai secured the third ,fourth & fifth  runners-up spot respectively in the grand finale.

Idea Star Singer Season 6 winner Merin received villa and flat  worth Rs.1 crore sponsored by Confident group ,first runner-up Rajeev received Rs.15 lakhs of Gold sponsored by Josco , Second runner up Megha got Rs. 7.5 lakhs  of gold sponsored by Bhima , third  runner up Nandu got 5 lakhs sponsored by Hypower batteries  and forth & fifth runners-up Shamshad and Sukesh Kuttan received Rs.2 lakhs sponsored by Grand Shopping Festival and 1 lakhs respectively.

The winners were selected by eminent jury comprised  India’s most Popular play back singer Hariharan ,Playback singers K.S.Chithra, M.G.Sreekumar , Anuradha Sreeram and music director M.Jayachandran.

Film Stars K.P.A.C. Lalitha, Kaniha, Archana Kavi, Gauthami Nair, Sona Nair ,Saranya Mohan, Aishwarya Devan , Asianet Managing Director K.Madhavan, Asianet Business Head John Brittas and other leading celebrities from the world of film and music added a dash of glamour to the show.
