Life OK strengthens and inches closer to Zee in Week 23

Life OK with its recent achievement has further strengthened its position in week 23 to remain at 3rd spot in the GEC list. The channel is now closing in on Zee TV and is apart from the 2nd placed channel by only 12 million TVTs.  Although Star Plus viewership is declining week on week, it still retains its first position in the ranking order and continues to maintain a wide margin with the rest of the channels. As per viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 23, 2014 (June 1  – June 7 ) for CS 4+, HSM markets Star Plus, Zee and Sony viewership dropped while a gain was seen in the ratings of Life OK,  Colors and SAB TV. The pecking order remains the same as last week 

Detailed below is the data of the GEC’s performance in week 23 along with previous week’s figures enlisted in the brackets:
Star Plus steady at the top of the GEC chart is losing viewership and has registered a further drop this week to record 647 million GVTs (gross TV viewership in million) as against 655 million GVTs recorded last week.  
Zee TV at 2nd position too saw a dip in viewership as it recorded 383 million GVTs (last week 400 GVTs) thereby registering a fall of 17 million TVTs
Life OK adding 6 million TVTs in week 23 has recorded 371 million GVTs (last week 365   million GVTs) .The channel which jumped to 3rd place last week has strengthened its position this week
Colors Viacom 18 continues to be at 4th spot in week 23. The channels ratings witnessed a slight gain as it recorded 350 million GVTs as against last week’s 347 million GVTs
Sony Entertainment Television viewership registered a steep decline as it lost 27 million TVTs and recorded 313 million GVTs (last week 340 GVTs) and continues to be at no. 5 in the GEC list.
SAB TV at 6th spot recorded a score of 261 million GVTs (256 million GVTs) this week thereby registering a gain of 5  million TVTs
Now coming to programme wise ratings of shows on the various channels:-
Top 10 Fiction Programs: None of the Colors programs feature in the Top 10 list of fiction show for the 9th week in a row. Star Plus has seven programs (Diya Aur Baati Hum, Saathiya Saath Nibhana, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Yeh Rishta, Mahabharata, Veera & Pyar Ka Dard Hai), while Zee TV has two show (Jodha Akbar & Dol Dil Bandhe). Sony SAB has Tarak Mehta in the list.

Top Non Fiction/ Weekend Programs: Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa – Grand Premier Night (Launch Episode) debuts at No.1 this week with 5.3 Mn. Comedy Nights with Kapil is the No. 2 show this week in with 4.4 Mn followed by CID on Sony at No. 3 with 3.7 Mn. DID Little Masters 3 is at No. 4 with 3.2 Mn & at No. 5 is Shapath Super Cops vs Super Villains with 2.7 Mn.

Reach: Colors 106.8 Mn (105.6 Mn), Star Plus 118.2 Mn (118.3). Zee TV 108.9 Mn (108.8 Mn), Sony TV 105.0 Mn (107.6 Mn). Life OK 109.8 Mn (109.2 Mn) and SAB 86.6 Mn (84.6 Mn).

Time Spent per Viewer: Colors 98 minutes (98 minutes), Star Plus 164 minutes (166 minutes), Zee TV 106 minutes (110 minutes), Sony 89 minutes (95 minute), Life OK 101 minutes (100 minutes) and SAB TV 91 minutes (91 minutes).

New Launches/Events & WTP/First Airings of Movies:

Colors  - Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa – Grand Premier Night (Sat 9pm): opened with 5.3 Mn with a reach of 25.2 Mn and a TSV of 31.3 minutes contributing a gross viewership of 26.3 Mn to the channel.

SONY MAX & SIX -  IPL Finale KKR Vs. KXIP (Sun 8pm): delivered a viewership of 17.8 Mn & 1.9 Mn respectively on MAX & SIX with a gross viewership of 128 Mn on MAX & 14 Mn on SIX.

Life OK -  Baawre (Mon - Fri 7pm & 10pm): got launched with an average viewership of 0.6 & 1.3 Mn.
First Airing of HFF Jai Ho (Sat 8pm): fetched 4.5 Mn with delivering a gross viewership of 26.8 Mn.

Star Plus’s Ek Haseena Thi averages 3.7 Mn (3.8). Main Na Bhulungi averages 0.8 Mn (0.8), Mahadev on Life OK averages 1.9 Mn (1.7) and Baalveer on SAB averages 2.2 Mn (2.2) this week.
Mon – Fri 8:30 pm Slot: Madhubala’s viewership averages to 2.7 Mn (2.5) this week. Mahabharata on Star Plus increases to 6.0 Mn (5.5) this week, Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se on Zee TV drops and averages 4.3 Mn (4.8). Taarak Mehta drops to 5.9 Mn (5.4). Ek Nayi Pehchan averages 1.2 Mn (1.1).
Mon – Fri 9:00 pm Slot:  Beintehaa averages 3.3 Mn (2.9) for the week. Diya Aur Bati Hum increases to 9.6 Mn (8.7) and comfortably maintains its slot leadership position. Kumkum Bhagya averages 3.2 Mn (3.3) for the week, Chidiya Ghar on SAB averages 2.2 Mn (2.2).
Mon - Fri 9:30 pm Slot: Rangrasiya’s viewership increases to 3.0 Mn (2.4). Yeh Rishta averages to 6.4 Mn (6.3) with comfortably holding on to its slot leadership.
