Channel [v] appoints 257 campus managers across 9 cities for Nokia Indiafest 2012

After an overwhelming success in its maiden year with participation from more than 50,000 students for a two day inter-collegiate festival in Goa, Nokia Indiafest is back with a bang in January 2012. Channel [v], the biggest youth channel in the country launched its flagship event, Nokia Indiafest with the aim to engage youth in the most pioneering ways. This year, in an endeavor to tap the best talent in the country and to take the message across the country, Channel [v] has initiated a unique college engagement program. After an exhaustive short listing process across 9 cities, they have appointed 257 campus managers in 220 colleges across these 9 cities. The students are chosen to intern as on-campus brand ambassadors for Nokia Indiafest 2012.

Speaking on this innovative approach to marketing the event, Prem Kamath, General Manager Channel [v], explained, "Our idea of providing internships to students for Indiafest is far beyond distributing pamphlets and spreading the word. In their capacity as students, these managers have the opportunity to indigenously introduce this event within multiple cultural societies, whether performing arts or literary and otherwise, that is related to various events at the festival. They are also responsible for executing road shows and engaging crowds around their colleges with the concept of Indiafest. With their help, we are confident of significantly increasing participation at Indiafest.'
