BARC ratings Wk 25: Star Plus regains No. 1 spot in Urban+Rural

BARC ratings for Week 25 (June 18-24) of 2016 [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals] continued to witnessed the see-saw battle between Colors and Star Plus for the top spot. This week, Star Plus surged ahead to claim the numero Uno spot.

Star Plus, which had slipped to the second spot last week, reclaimed the top spot in Week 25 with gross viewership of 669152, registering gains as against 641,404 reported in Week 24. The channel’s show ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’ became the most watched show on Hindi GECs in rural+urban, garnering 10,981 impressions (000s). ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’, another show on Star Plus, climbed up a notch to No. 3 among the top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in rural+urban, garnering 10,140 impressions (000s).

Meanwhile, Colors slipped a notch to No. 2 in Week 25, registering gross viewership of 630,167, compared to 664,517 recorded last week. ‘Kavach’, the recently-launched supernatural show on Colors dropped to the fourth spot this week from its numero uno spot a week ago, registering 8,704 impressions (000s) in rural+urban.

Zee TV held on to its third spot in Week 25 with a gross viewership of 590,000, witnessing growth from 529,237 registered last week. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ saw gains this week as the show rose to the second spot with 10,480 impressions (000s) in rural+urban from No. 5 in Week 24.

Star Utsav continued to be in the No. 4 spot this week, garnering gross viewership of 456,178, witnessing a fall in its gross viewership from 520,494 recorded in Week 24.

Sony Pal climbed up a notch to No. 5 from the sixth spot last week. The channel saw an increase in its gross viewership from 445,750 in Week 24 to 451,390 this week.

Zee Anmol, on the other hand, slipped a notch to be placed in the sixth spot in Week 25, garnering gross viewership of 445,267, witnessing a decline from 457,988 recorded last week. Period drama ‘Jodha Akbar’ slipped to the fifth spot among the top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in rural+urban, registering 8215 impressions (000s).

Life OK continued in its seventh spot this week with a gross viewership of 411,292, a slight decline from 417,981 recorded in Week 24.

Sony Entertainment Television saw further gains this week. The channel climbed up to the No. 8 spot from No. 9 in Week 24. However, the channel witnessed a decline in its gross viewership from 365,704 last week to 357,481 in Week 25.

Meanwhile, Sony SAB slipped to No. 9 in Week 25, garnering gross viewership of 343,824, compared to 367,376 recorded last week.

Placed at the tenth spot, Rishtey, too, saw a decline in its gross viewership from 345,618 last week to 332,770 in Week 25.
