Adgully Exclusive | Web radio to grow multi-fold in India: PlanetRadiocity's Rachna Kanwar

Wondering how that's going to happen? Well PlanetRadiocity.com has formally launched its new web radio genre, IndiPop Radio, which plays IndiPop hits 24Ãâ€'7, bringing non-stop music on the net.

An initiative to revive IndiPop in the country, PlanetRadiocity.com also aims at providing a platform for artistes to launch their singles and albums.

Rapper Baba Sehgal kick starts the initiative with his new single and video "Praji Kunjam Kunjam Control' which will be exclusively played on PlanetRadiocity Web Radio.

Adgully caught up with Rachna Kanwar, VP & Business Head, Digital Media & New Business, RadioCity 91.1 FM who sheds more light on the new venture.

"One of the emerging trends is that of music releases on the Internet. This taps the viral nature of the medium. For example Kolaveri di broke out on social media and became a phenomenon. Similarly we recently released Baba Sehgal's video on PlanetRadiocity.com and he was trending on twitter with people posting his video.

Besides the Indipop, Kanwar also plans to delve into other genres of music such as ghazals & devotional songs. They are also planning to actively pursue mobile applications so that it is convenient to its listeners.
