Youth targeted channel Channel [v], has always lead the way with its unique youth engagement initiatives since its commencement.

Channel [v] is today known for creating innovative, award winning and cutting edge content and interactions that reflect youth passions. It holds the credit for initiating the biggest and a landmark youth festival ' Nokia Indiafest at the hottest destination, Goa, to reach out to the maximum youth in the country beyond television and in providing an unbound reach to their talent.

While talking exclusively to Adgully, Prem Kamath, General Manager, Channel [v] shared some key insights about the new initiative.

Speaking about the initiative, he said, "It is one of the largest inter-college festivals in India. Last year there were about 50,000 students from 1200 colleges who registered and around 12000 students participated. This time we have larger scale we will bring a supreme experience for the youth while reaching out to 240 colleges across more than 10 cities through zonal competitions and an assorted mix of 30 challenging competitions arraying from theatre to music to fashion to sport and more."

"Since it is one of the poplars' among the inter-college festivals in India we have about 300 campus representatives and many more to support us and help us creating an environment," he added.

Talking about brand associations, he said, "We are in the process of finalizing some of them and around 7 to 8 brands will be on board."

With an overwhelming success in its first year, Nokia Indiafest 2011 attracted more than 50,000 students from 1200 colleges. What made it especially unique was its scale and size. For some, it was the biggest opportunity to showcase their talent to the world, for others it was the coolest festival of the country in decades.
