Zee Media appoints Ashok Venkatramani to the post of MD

Ashok Venkatramani has been appointed M.D of Zee Media Corporation Ltd (ZMCL) post his exit as Director from Chrome Analytics and Media Private Ltd. He was a former CEO of ABP News Network.

With 25 years of experience under his belt in FMCG and broadcasting sectors, he was vital in turning around ABP’s news business and smoothly transitioned Star brand to ABP. He began his career with Unilever where he was VP and Business Head till 2008, before joining ABP. He worked as CEO of ABP till 2016.

ZMCL informed Bombay Stock Exchange “Based on the recommendation of Nomination and Remuneration Committee and subject to requisite regulatory approvals, including approval of shareholders, of Mr. Ashok as Managing Director of the company for a period of three years with effect from July 1, 2018”.

Venkatramani (55) has a B.Tech from Mumbai University and is an alma mater from Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad) and Harvard Business School.
