iProspect India, the digital agency from Dentsu Aegis Network, completed 20 years in India on November 17, 2017. In an exclusive conversation with Adgully, Vivek Bhargava, CEO, DAN Performance Group, walks down memory lane and recalls his days as an entrepreneur, setting up Communicate 2, becoming part of a bigger set-up in Dentsu Aegis Network and more importantly, his major learnings while leading iProspect India over its two-decade presence in the Indian market and how the agency has carved out a successful place for itself. Speaking about ‘Under New Realities’, a global research study from IPG partnered by FCB Cogito in India, Terry Peigh, Managing Director of Interpublic Group, said, “The data from this year’s IPG/ Cogito research in India are especially interesting and valuable for today’s marketers. They clearly show how India leads all countries studied when it comes to consumers feeling valued by friends for their knowledge about products; in  leading all countries in giving brand opinions to friends; and in viewing brand names as more important than ever before. I’d say that today’s Indian consumer is perhaps the world’s most passionate and involved consumer!” In a free-wheeling conversation with Adgully, Terry Peigh speaks about influencer marketing, digital trends in the next five years, long format ads, brand faith and more. 

BARC ratings for Week 45 (November 4-10) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw Star Bharat climbing up to the numero uno spot. The weeks preceding this development saw the channel put up a strong show at the ratings charts post its rebranding (the channel was previously known as Life OK) in August-end this year. 

It’s been a year since Network18 Group rebranded its Hindi general news channel as News18 India. Post the rebranding, News18 India has been marching ahead with its tagline, ‘Danke Ki Chot Par, and has been focusing on creating a distinct position for itself in the Hindi General News category. Prabal Pratap Singh, Managing Editor, News18 India, speaks to Adgully about the channel’s growth post rebranding, the key focus areas in the coming year, various digital initiatives and much more. 

Wavemaker India has commenced operations in the country with a team of 700+ professionals and will service a portfolio of clients, including FMCG giant ITC and L’Oréal. The agency will be headquartered in Mumbai with offices in Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Thrissur and Cochin. In conversation with Adgully, Alastair Aird, Global Chairman and Managing Director, Wavemaker, sheds further light on Wavemaker’s key focus areas in India, the importance of content, focus on local, obsession with the Purchase Journey, key trends in 2018 and much more. 

A lot has been written, debated and tweeted about the Indigo incident, where the airline’s ground staff were seen assaulting a male passenger at the Delhi airport in a widely circulated video. Though the unfortunate incident was a ripe occasion for some interesting ambush marketing action, competitor airlines showed remarkable restraint, with the exception of Air India. 

Cannes Lions has launched the 2018 Festival of Creativity with important changes to the delegate experience and awards structure. The 65th edition of the Festival will run for five days, from Monday, June 18 to Friday, June 22. As a result of the reorganisation 120 Lions sub-categories have been removed. The Cyber Lions, Integrated Lions and the Promo Lions will be retired.

Subsequent to the MOU signed between the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and Indian Outdoor Advertising Association (IOAA), after months of discussion and deliberations both parties have arrived at a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to be followed by members of both Associations with a view to regulating and growing the Indian outdoor advertising industry
