Vijay TV premieres block buster hits this Pongal

This weekend, we have Premiere of the newly released crime thriller “Chekka Chivantha Vaanam” on 13th January and we have grand finale of Jodi Fun Unlimited. The details of the Pongal shows are given below.

SAAMY 2 at 11 am

An action thriller film written and directed by Hari. Music by Devi Prasad. Film stars – Vikram, Prabhu, Bobby Simha, Keerthy Suresh, Aishwarya Rajesh, Soori. The revenge drama continues between the son of Aarusamy and Perumal Pichai. Ramasamy, who works as a front-end receptionist for union minister Viswanathan, decides to pursue civil service. Soon, Viswanathan’s daughter falls in love with him after he saves her from gangster. Later, Ramasamy becomes an IPS officer and he gets posted to Tiruneleveli, a place his father Aaruchamy was posted. Realizing he shouldn't keep his grandson in the dark anymore, his grandparents tell him who his real parents are and how they died. They tell him that Aaruchamy (Vikram's character in Saamy) was a fearless police officer, who was killed along with his pregnant wife by the three sons of Perumal Pichai, as revenge for killing their father. The movie tells the story of an honest cop Ramasamy, who fight against a ruthless politician Ravana Pichai.

PARIYERUM PERUMAL BA.BL at 2.30 pm

The movie unfolds with the protagonist, Pariyerum Perumal (Kathir) who enrolls himself into a law college, aspiring to become a lawyer. His life is not a bed of roses, as he faces series of embarrassments during his course of life. He is initially mocked for his poor English in the college. He is then backed and assisted by Jothi Mahalakshmi (Anandhi) on the subject and that, helps them to grow closer to each other. This proximity will be seen as a growing concern to Jothi's family, as they belong to a higher caste, where they see any contact of friendship/relationship with a lower caste person as an insult, which is unacceptable by any means for them. Perumal is now under constant threat from Jothi's family and undergoes a series of difficult times. Will he be able to overcome all these obstacles? Is there any harm caused by Jothi's family to the protagonist? Will the lead pair unite eventually? All these form the rest of the plot. The film stars -Kathir, Anandhi, Yogi Babu in lead roles, Directed by Maari Selvaraj and Music by Santhosh Narayanan.

A gangster film, written and directed by Vetri Maaran .The film stars – Dhanush, Ameer Sultan, Andrea Jeremiah, Radha Ravi, Daniel Balaji, Kishore Kumar, Samuthirakani in lead roles.

Vada Chennai is set against the backdrop of North Chennai. The group Guna (Samuthirakani), Senthil (Kishore), Pazhani (Dheena) and Velu (Pavan) killed a big shot gangster and they discuss the replacement of his place. Anbu (Dhanush), who learns to play carrom hoping to become a state level carrom player. Also, he wants to stay away from the dark side of his neighborhood and become a respectable government employee. Anbu is jailed for murder where he become close to Senthil’s gang and earns the trust of Senthil. How his life gets entwined in the gang wars between two different groups is the rest of the story.

KADAIKUTTY SINGAM at 2.30 pm

A family drama, directed by Pandiraj, Music by D Imman. Film stars - Karthi, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Sayyeshaa Saigal, Soori.
The story revolves around a big family, headed by Ranasingam (Sathyaraj). Ranasingam has two wives, five daughters and son Gunasingam(Karthi). Gunasingam, bonds very well with his sisters and does everything keeping their interest in mind. The entire family wants a Gunasingam to marry one of his nieces – Poompozhil (Priya Bhavani Shankar) or Aandaal (Arthana Binu). However, he falls in love with Kannukiniyaal(Sayyeshaa), which eventually creates a rift in the family. Meanwhile, Kodiarasu(Chandru) a caste-obsessed local politician develops a rivalry with Gunasingam and plots to destroy him and his family. Whether Gunasingam succeeds to bring his broken family together and marries the love of his life forms the rest of the plot.
