The Womb wins at the WARC Innovation Awards 2018 for Carvaan

The Womb, a premium communications and innovations company, won Special Award for Category Innovation and Silver for Effective Innovation at the WARC Innovation Awards 2018 for Carvaan.”

Carvaan is a digital radio that comes pre-loaded with themed playlists as well as a radio functionality, created by The Womb for Indian music company Saregama in order to grow revenue from its back catalogue.

Commenting on winning the award, Navin Talreja, Founder, The Womb said, “For a young company like ours to start winning on the global stage is quite exciting and an honor. The jury of 15 agency and client-side industry professionals, chaired by Christopher Yu, Vice President, Integrated Marketing Strategy, Innovation, and Technology, US Bank, awarded 13 campaigns from around the world in the Effective Innovation category which recognises innovative thinking that has transformed a business or disrupted category conventions to deliver tangible results.

Carvaan is a portable digital audio player with in-built stereo speakers and 5000 evergreen Hindi songs inside. These 5000 songs available on Carvaan have been handpicked using big data and categorised based on singers, lyricists, music composers, moods etc. With the option to tune into FM, Carvaan doubles up as a home radio too. It is possible to enjoy one's personal collection of songs by plugging in a USB drive or streaming songs from a phone to Carvaan via Bluetooth.
