The Kingfisher Calendar is back !

As the New Year starts the most coveted property by The United Breweries Group’s (UBL) umbrella is all set to create ‘oomph’ for its viewers. Yes, I am talking about Kingfisher Calendar 2015. Known for introducing glamour with sophistication Kingfisher calendar has always kept everyone on their toes with anticipation. And with Exotic Turkey, best bods and Good Times, they bring forth the 13th edition of Kingfisher Calendar. ‘The Kingfisher Calendar 2015’ blends impeccable style with unmatched beauty, set against the splendor of Turkey beaches and countryside. Shot in pristine locations of Cappadocia, Bo drum and Pamukkale with five gorgeous models, the calendar arrests your attention with magical reality captured through lens.

To know more Adgully caught up with Samar Singh Sheikhwat, Senior Vice President of Marketing, UBL. Since Kingfisher Calendar is one the oldest property and over the years it has carved a niche for itself hence describing the evolution of the property, Sheikhwat said, “The property has grown quite positively and has given us encouraging results. We have expanded the property to a reality show on NDTV Good Times and that too made us witness really good numbers.”

To make it more appealing and hotter, the ‘Kingfisher Calendar 2015’ features five stunning models Sarah Jane Dias, Dayana Erappa, Elena Fernandes, Keisha Lall and the winner of Kingfisher Supermodels-2, a reality talent show aired on NDTV Good Times. These beauties have been styled by the talented Nupur Mehta Puri and Mohit Rai; make-up artist Kapil Bhalla; hair stylist Apeni George, and captured on lens by none other than ace photographer Atul Kasbekar, who has been associated with the Kingfisher Calendar since its inception.

As UBL is known to engage and create a strong connect among its users, interestingly this time too with an aim to take the property all the more closer to its consumers, UBL is giving a chance to vote for the best Kingfisher girl. On asking about how this season stands different and innovative, he said, “This time it is different as we are enhancing the viewer’s participation as the most loved Kingfisher Calendar gives power to people this year to vote for their favorite girl. The most voted girl gets to be on the cover of Kingfisher Calenadar-2015.”

Another interesting step taken by the creators is to get the digital version of the calendar. Elaborating further, he said, “Yes, we are making it available for the consumers online, not the calendar though as it reaches strictly to the niche audience but some images etc. will available.”

According to him Turkey is the perfect location for an outdoor shoot. It is always challenging to shoot in such set ups, but then the final shots make it worth the effort. People have showered enormous love to the Calendar, so this year we gave them the power to choose their favourite face for the cover and we are confident of receiving a great response.”

Though as of now the focus is on digital but going forward the property will see a heavy marketing push. When asked about the sponsorship and partnership he stressed upon the fact that the conversations are on and hence he was not in the position to reveal the names.

Well the popularity of The Kingfisher Calendar Girl speaks about the response in itself. Elaborating further, he said, “The response as of now has been fabulous. We have around 40,000 people who have started voting for the girls.”

The Kingfisher Calendar 2015 will be launched among much fanfare in the presence of the best of Bollywood and fashion personalities shortly.

 Sarah Jane Dias: is an Indian actress, host, VJ and a former Femina Miss India beauty queen. She has acted in several Tamil and Hindi movies, ‘Happy New Year’ being the latest.
 Dayana Erappa: Hails from Coorg, Karnataka. She’s an established model and has walked the ramp at many international fashion weeks including the Milan Fashion Week.
 Elena Fernandes: Is half Goan and half Peruvian. This top model was featured in the 2013 Kingfisher Calendar too. She also has a couple of Bollywood film offers.
 Keisha Lall: Her parents hail from Guyana and she was born in London. But her roots derive from Rajasthan. Keisha was featured in Duran Duran’s pop promotion music video and Above and Beyond – A Thing Called Love.
