Star India launches its new service 'Hotstar'

In a silent move, Star India has launched its new video streaming service called Hotstar.com. According to reports, this is the same service that was talked about in 2012 as ‘MyStar’ as a part of the company’s plan for taking its digital content ahead.

This Beta platform offers Star’s TV Shows, Movies, Sports, its sitcoms and its regional content. While the website doesn’t have content in order of the episodes, they have snippets from the shows as far as their TV shows is concerned. There is no clarity of whether this service is paid or free.

In the MORE drop down, their Hindi movie collection is a must glance through. While in the English genre, they have Koffee With Karan and Cricket. In the regional space, they have movies in respective regional languages.

It is indeed a question if this platform will put an end to Star Player and Star Sports as Star India has previously shut platforms like Indya on Demand and Video on the rocks when they launched video portals in past.

The platform not only offers its TV shows and movies across six languages on web, but also offers the same through their iOS and Android Apps. It offers the same content on both the web and the apps.

From TV Shows, to Movies to Cricket tournaments, to the latest being Kabaddi, the website has it all.
