SARVA partners with OYO Hotels & Homes

SARVA, one of the world’s most promising yoga and wellness start-ups, has partnered with OYO Hotels & Homes, the world's 6th largest chain of hotels, homes, and living spaces, to set-up 500 wellness studios across select OYO Townhouses in India. Funded by an illustrious list of global investors which include names like global pop icon Jennifer Lopez, Bollywood diva Malaika Arora, American baseball legend Alex Rodriguez, and Zumba, amongst many others, SARVA aims to connect 7 billion breaths by making yoga-based wellness a part of the modern lifestyle, to combat global epidemics like stress, anxiety, depression, sleeplessness, and obesity.

Through the partnership with OYO, SARVA will set up wellness studios at select OYO Townhouses to enrich the wellness experiences of every customer. As an introductory offer, SARVA will offer guests at OYO Townhouse one free trial session during their stay. These state-of-the-art studios will also become wellness destinations for the entire neighborhood and locality. A study by Global Wellness Institute revealed that the $639 billion wellness tourism industry is going to reach $919 billion in 2022 which is twice as fast as the tourism market overall. With these statistics, SARVA and OYO are set to be the catalysts in making India the hub of wellness tourism in the next few years. SARVA along with OYO intend to make the holistic wellness experience at the Townhouses affordable and easily accessible.

Speaking on this development, Sarvesh Shashi, CEO & Co-Founder of SARVA said, “SARVA always had the vision to reach the 600 million people in India living under the age group of 35 to make them physically, mentally and emotionally fit individuals. OYO Townhouses are designed for the millennial traveler, who according to studies, actively look for wellness experiences when they travel and consciously try to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This association is a culmination of OYO and SARVA’s shared vision of attracting the new age traveler through curated experiences and offering them easy access to wellness options even when they are on the move.”

Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Ankit Tandon, Chief Operating Officer, Operated Business, OYO Hotels & Homes, said, ”We are pleased to associate with SARVA, one of the most promising Indian startups. With this partnership, OYO Townhouse, a unique combination of a traditional hotel that offers the warmth of your home, along with amenities like a merchandise store and café, etc., will now see the addition of a wellness studio to its offerings. The new age traveler gives utmost importance to health and wellness even when on the move. We, therefore, believe that this association with SARVA will give travelers from around the world one more reason to choose an OYO Townhouse.“

Talking about the partnership, Malaika Arora, Co-Founder of SARVA said, “I have for long been zealously practicing yoga and experienced the dynamics of its inner energy and mental equipoise. The fact that yoga helps in combating various modern day ailments like stress, anxiety, depression, and obesity is known to many. Yet most people have several mental blocks regarding yoga, often believing popular misconceptions like yoga doesn’t help in weight loss or that one needs to be flexible to practice it. With this partnership with OYO Townhouses, we are taking yoga to everybody to help them understand the innate adaptability, accessibility, and health benefits of yoga for all body types and mental make-ups. We want to make wellness a part of the everyday lives of people and this association is a positive step in that direction.”

SARVA currently has 91 studios across India, clustering Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru. Its next cluster will include the other metros of the country. In a bid to create its international footprint, over the next few years, it will continue to evaluate market opportunities in USA, UK, and Middle East once it has penetrated the already existing large Indian market. In Q4 this calendar year, beyond brick and mortar studios, the company's growth will be enhanced by their digital offerings in the mindfulness music, guided meditation, and interactive fitness space. By 2022, SARVA aims to build a global community of over 100 million on its digital platform.
