Nokia phones’ new campaign featuring Alia Bhatt goes on air

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, has launched a new campaign featuring Alia Bhatt, for its smartphone range in India. The campaign supports recently launched and widely acclaimed Nokia 8.1 and Nokia 7.1 smartphones, that bring imaging with ZEISS Optics, PureDisplay screen technology and the very best of Google innovation to consumers.

The first film is built around a group of friends who recreate some special memories by using the superior 4K video recording capabilities of Nokia 8.1 and Nokia 7.1. The ad shows Alia and her friends going about their day as friends usually do, bonding over a game of gully cricket or letting their hair down at a cafe. In an interesting twist, it is revealed that they were doing this to recreate the special memories for their beloved friend, Rohan, who is away from home and missing his friends. The second film is set amongst the same friends, and through some fun and easy camaraderie, showcases how the youth today is constantly on the look-out for information that gives them new ways of looking at the world. The film demonstrates how Nokia smartphones enabled with the latest Android 9 Pie update, can help you to “search anything you see with Google Lens”. Click here to reveal the hilarious and affectionate banter that ensues when one of Alia’s friends brags about “Samurai philosophy”.

Nokia smartphones including the Nokia 8.1, Nokia 7.1, as well as the much-loved Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus enable access to the latest Android features and innovation with Android 9 Pie.

Jyotsna Makkar, Head of Marketing – India Region, HMD Global, said:

“Nokia has always been a human brand. True to that legacy, we are always looking for ways to bring the soul back into what is a very commoditised space today. That’s what the films are meant to accomplish with the warmth and the togetherness they depict between friends.  With this, we address young Indian consumers who are experiencing the unique promise of Nokia smartphones on Android – pure, secure and up-to-date – with the latest software and innovations from Google. Nokia phones give the freedom to the youth to have the best smartphone experience across the range.”

The films, conceptualized by McCann, will be seen across television, digital and cinema halls starting 14th February 2019.
