Navjot Singh Sidhu asked to leave The Kapil Sharma Show

Navjot Singh has been removed from The Kapil Sharma show after his remarks on the Pulwama Attack brought on unwanted controversy and negative feedback from viewers. He will be replaced by Archana Singh Puran who has already shot a few episodes of the show.

Sidhu's comments that sparked the controversy were “Nations cannot be held responsible for the dastardly acts of terrorists. The terrorists do not have deen, mazhab (sect and religion). There are good, the bad and the ugly. Every institution has them. Every nation has them. The ugly need to be punished. But individuals cannot be blamed for the dastardly act.”

Following the comment, social media raised a hue and cry which led to the decision of the sacking by Sony TV.
