Mercedes-Benz India launches G63 AMG

The longest serving vehicle in series production- the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, is now the youngest vehicle in its portfolio. In its 34th year of series production, the iconic Mercedes-Benz G-Class continues its blazing success trail. Equipped with even more luxurious interiors, discreet modifications in design and styling, enhanced safety features, new infotainment system and a powerful 5.5 litre supercharged AMG engine to boot; the G 63 AMG made its India debut in a glitzy event at the nation’s economic capital today.

The G-Class stars in the exciting sequel ‘A Good Day to Die-Hard’ featuring Bruce Willis as the iconoclastic, take-no-prisoner cop John McClane. With its breathtakingly spectacular car chases through Moscow, the G-Class along with other Mercedes-Benz models are the ideal ‘Hero Cars’ for the hard as nails requirements of John & Jack McClane.

In a first of its kind engagement, the launch of the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG in India is also the platform to announce the premier of the much awaited movie, ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’. The star studded cast also include Jai Courtney and Sebastian Koch. Released across Indian theatres this movie is being translated across 5 Indian languages and is eagerly awaited by action film buffs across the country.

Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India commented, “The G-Class has the essential attributes of a Mercedes-Benz: Dynamism, Comfort, Safety and Status. Yet its pedigree and classic form has been retained across the 34 years of its existence. The G-Class retains its shape, rugged design and the same mission to cope with extreme conditions. It’s not surprising therefore that the G-Class is called upon to serve in extreme terrains; its cult status makes it the vehicle of choice of world leaders and celebrities alike. The G 63 AMG reconciles an involving, compelling driving experience with performance, functionality and timeless appeal which is exceptional in this vehicle class. We are excited to introduce the G 63 AMG for the discerning Indian customers.”
